St. Philomena's Cathedral in Mysuru is one of India's largest cathedrals and a magnificent example of Gothic architecture. The magnificent church, which was created to commemorate the memory of Saint Philomena, a Latin Catholic saint of the Roman Catholic Church, was inspired by Germany's magnificent Cologne Cathedral. Stroll around Brindavan Gardens
Built in 1932 by Sir Mirza Ismail, the Diwan of Mysore, Brindavan Gardens are located just 21 kms away from Mysore. The 60 acre botanical garden spread across the famous Kaveri river, took almost five years to complete. The beauty and expanse of the gardens attracts many families, couples and friends who plan a picnic here. A walk along the well kept flowerbeds and green grass anyway enlightens your soul. It is best to enjoy the fountain show with music while exploring the gardens to truly witness its beauty. The timings start from 6:30 am in the morning till 9:00 pm at night. The cost of the ticket is INR 15 for adults and INR 5 for kids. It is best to check the timings and ticket availability before visiting.
City of Palaces
Not just one but the city has a total of seven palaces that take you back in time to the royal reign in Mysore and gives you a taste of luxury. The lavish and majestic palaces were built during the reign of Maharajas Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV and belonged to his family. How to reach Mysore

The nearest international airport is at Bangalore and domestic at Srirangapatna. Mysore is a major railway junction so it is convenient to travel via trains or roads. Bangalore (148 km), Coimbatore (204 km) and Coonor (147km) are some of the cities that are connected by the road and can be visited while exploring the state.
