Tourism is one of the significant factors affecting the economy of the country. The ministers take note to make necessary changes in context to tourism of the country. Recently on Tuesday (20 Aug, 2019), Prahalad Singh Patel the tourism minister announced any person who is planning for a visit to India on short duration would have to pay e-visa fee. The e-visa fee will be applied on both the lean as well as the peak period.
Patel mentioned the e-visa fee for both the seasons. He stated that for the peak season, i.e., from the month of July to march the e-visa fee will be $ 25 for duration of 30 days. On the other hand, the e-visa fee from April to June, which is considered as the lean period, will be $ 10.
The minister also mentioned about the e-tourist visa fee. The fee for five-year e-tourist visa will be $ 80, for one-year e- tourist visa the cost will be $ 40. To avail the e-visa for the duration of 30 days, one year and five years the e-visa fee for japan, Singapore and Sri Lanka will be$ 25. The lean period fee for these countries is $ 10.

The tourism minister made this announcement at the inauguration of state tourism ministers’ conference. The visa fee reduction is under consideration of the ministry of external affairs said the ministry.
