A little about the Taj Mahal: The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It took around 20 years to complete, around 20000 workers were used to build and around 1000 elephants were used to bring materials like white marble and red sandstone and from different parts of the country.
What to see inside the Taj Mahal complex, it comprises of a large Mughal style garden, mausoleum, museum and mosque. Since the complex is vast, the time offered to explore the Taj Mahal is 3 hours.

Stop At: Agra Fort, Rakabgani, Agra, India
By afternoon around 12.00 PM, you will be taken to the Agra Fort which is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar and remained the residence of the Mughals for generations till the capital was shifted to Delhi in 1638. The fort is completely made of red sandstone. Inside the complex, the main attractions comprises of the Jahangir Palace, Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas, Musamman Burj, mosque, courtyard, etc.
The tour will be completed within 2-hours. After visiting the Agra Fort, you will be taken to a restaurant for having your lunch.

Stop At: Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, Moti Bagh, Agra, India
By 2.30 PM, next on the list is the Tomb Itimad-Ud-Daulah which is located at the banks of the river Yamuna on the eastern side of the Taj Mahal. This tomb is dedicated to Mirza Ghiyas Beg who was the father of Nur Jahan and it was built by her. The tomb is one of the great works of the Mughal architects with splendid architectural monument, intricate designs and great marble work.
Note: A visit to this monument is optional and depends on the preference of the travellers.
